Benue: SUBEB takes enrollment drive campaign to Zone A

The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has taken its Enrollment Drive Campaign to Benue Zone A, held at Vandeikya LGA on Friday, following successful launches in Makurdi for Zone B and in Otukpo for Zone C.

This Campaign aims to boost enrollment rates and to sensitize key education stakeholders on the government’s commitment to ensuring access to quality education for all children of school age.

The Executive Chairman SUBEB, Dr Grace Adagba lauded the Executive Governor, Benue State, Dr.Hyacinth Alia, for prioritizing education in his administration.

Dr.Adagba who was represented by the Board Secretary Dr Joseph Jande, commended Governor Alia’s unwavering commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure, curriculum, teacher welfare and training as well as the recruitment of more teachers to enhance basic education in the State.

She stressed the importance of collective effort in ensuring every child in Benue State has access to quality basic education provided in the Early Childhood Care Development Education, ECCDE, Centres, Public Primary and Junior Secondary Schools.

Dr Adagba said, ” The future of our children lies in education. We urge Parents, Guardians and all Community leaders to join hands with the government to ensure every child has access to basic education.”

Declaring the event open, the Commissioner, Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management, Rev Dr Frederick Ikyaan charged all stakeholders to join forces with the Government to ensure that every child in Benue State not only attends School but also receives quality education that equips them for opportunities and challenges of the 21st century.

The UBEC State Coordinator, Mr Idzi Baba Emmanuel, encouraged Parents and Stakeholders to embrace public education, assuring that UBEC is dedicated to ensuring quality education in Public Schools.

He emphasized that education is a necessity, not just a right, and encouraged all to support the Enrollment Drive Campaign Programme.

In their separate Goodwill messages, Mue-Ter Kyan, Augustine Akaahan Aule and CAN Coordinator Ushongo, Rev. Mlanga charged all Community and Religious Stakeholders to enrol their children in public schools, highlighting the significance of education in building a brighter future for their children and the community.

They urged parents to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the present administration to give their children quality education.

The Enrollment Drive Campaign and Sensitization Programme is one of the many initiatives by SUBEB to address the challenge of out-of-school children in Benue State.

The event was well-attended by Stakeholders, including parents, community leaders, religious organizations, NGOs, and the private sector.
