Security sources have said 20 medical students kidnapped in Benue State have been rescued.
Sources close to the office of the National Security Adviser confirmed this to Channels Television on Friday.
The operation was coordinated by the NSA.
Security agencies involved in the rescue mission include the Nigerian police, the Department of State Services, and military personnel with the support of the Benue state government.
Earlier, the police deployed helicopters in an effort to rescue abducted medical students.
Recall that on August 16, gunmen abducted over 20 medical and dental students and a house officer in Benue State.
