Cole Palmer Chooses His GOAT, Sterling To Join Manchester United

Chelsea’s versatile star, Cole Palmer has named his Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) after winning the Best Young Player of the Year award at the 2024 PFA Awards.

In an interview with Goal during the PFA Awards, Cole Palmer shared his thoughts on the unending GOAT debate. When asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Palmer simply responded “Messi”.

The 22-year-old player, who left Manchester City for Chelsea last summer, had an outstanding season with 22 Premier League goals and 11 assists.

It is not a surprise that Cole Palmer prefers Messi over Ronaldo. Recall that he spent a good number of years at City listening to coach Pep Guardiola using the 36-year-old Argentine football icon as a case study for some of his motivational speeches.

Meanwhile, UK Mirror has reported that Raheem Sterling’s time at Chelsea might come to an end in this summer transfer window.

The publication claimed that Sterling could fulfil a childhood dream by moving to Manchester United, while Jadon Sancho might potentially make his way to Chelsea in a swap deal this summer.

Sterling has reportedly been out of favour at Chelsea, and a move to Old Trafford seems like a possible development now that it is cleared that coach Enzo Maresca doesn’t want him at Stamford Bridge.
