Covenant varsity lecturer awarded

The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has named a Covenant University lecturer, Kehinde Oyesomi, as the best Public Relations Professional in Education.

According to a statement made available to Sunday PUNCH, Oyesomi was awarded during the 9th edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry and Gala Award, tagged, ‘Shining Stars’ at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The statement partly read, “This well-deserved award is a tribute to her tireless efforts in enhancing PR education and producing industry-ready graduates.

“As a facilitator of practical-oriented training programmes, Dr Oyesomi has empowered students to gain hands-on experience in Public Relations and related fields. Her efforts have yielded remarkable results, including NIPR certification for PR lecturers, facilitated students’ membership, town and gown interaction and fostering industry partnerships.

“Dr. Oyesomi’s innovative approach to PR education has been a game-changer for tertiary institutions. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, she has enabled students to drive national growth and development aligned with the UN-supported Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
