Popular Nollywood actor, Daniel Etim-Effiong, has opened up about a brief period in his past when he was involved with multiple women, calling it a “learning experience” and cautioning young people against embracing such a lifestyle.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the Plan B and The Men’s Club star reflected on his past habits, admitting that, by some definitions, he may have once been considered a womanizer.

“Maybe there was a time in my life I was,” Etim-Effiong said. “I wouldn’t say for long periods of my life. Maybe for some certain periods that I explored. So, perhaps.”

While describing that phase as “a period of learning,” the actor emphasized that the fulfillment he expected never truly came from the lifestyle. “On paper, it feels like that is the life, but experientially, maybe not,” he explained.

He used the opportunity to advise young people against developing habits that could harm future relationships or marriages. According to him, being a “player” may seem harmless or enjoyable at first, but such behavior doesn’t automatically stop after marriage.

“Don’t develop something you don’t want to continue for the rest of your life,” he warned. “If you are not able to commit to one person before marriage, that won’t magically change after marriage.”

Etim-Effiong, who left a career in engineering to pursue acting, has built a reputation as one of Nollywood’s most thoughtful and introspective talents. His comments have sparked conversations online about emotional maturity, commitment, and the importance of self-awareness before entering into lifelong partnerships.
