Lekki Deep Seaport has said that the appointment of Dr Abubakar Dantsoho as the managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority would boost port efficiency and increase competitiveness.

The Managing Director of Lekki Deep Seaport, Du Ruogang, stated this in a statement recently.

Ruogang noted that with Dantsoho’s deep expertise in public service, there was no doubt that he would competently and diligently steer the affairs of the NPA to enhance ports’ efficiency and competitiveness across Africa.

“The management of Lekki Deep Seaport is using this opportunity to congratulate Dr Abubakar Dantsoho on his recent appointment as Managing Director,” the statement read.

He also congratulated Adedayo Adeyeye, on his appointment as the chairman of the board of directors of the NPA.

“The deep seaport has enjoyed immense support from the NPA in the course of its development and construction phases and more so now that it has started commercial operations since April 2023,” he asserted.

He stated that the deep seaport was committed to reaching its full potential, which was in tandem with the objective of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, to drive maritime trade to hasten the economic recovery of Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Dantsoho to succeed Mohammed Bello-Koko as the managing director of NPA on July 12, 2024.
