New York City’s Central Park will host the annual Global Citizen Festival on September 28, featuring headliners Doja Cat and Post Malone. The free concert, held on the Great Lawn, aims to promote global development aid and coincides with the United Nations General Assembly.
Joining the lineup are country star Jelly Roll and Puerto Rican artist Rauw Alejandro. Actor Hugh Jackman will host the event, which has become a staple since 2012. Global Citizen distributes free tickets to supporters who pledge to take action, such as sending letters to governments in support of development aid.
Doja Cat, who previously partnered with Global Citizen for a Paris event, expressed her excitement to join forces again, emphasizing the importance of collective action to end extreme poverty and promote equity. The concert aims to raise awareness and funds to combat global issues like poverty and climate change. Last year’s event featured Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lauryn Hill as headliners.
