Governor of Gombe State Inuwa Yahaya has intensified the calls for federal government intervention to address the deplorable state of federal roads in the state and others that link it with other states.
The governor, who is also the chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, met with the minister of works, David Umahi, in Abuja for the second time in a series of meetings aimed at fast-tracking the rehabilitation of key roads.
LEADERSHIP reports that the dilapidated roads include Gombe-Bauchi, Gombe-Dukku-Darazo, Gombe-Biu, and Gombe-Bajoga-Potiskum.
He said these roads are crucial for regional development and national connectivity.
Responding, the minister said the advocacy is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ which targets improvements in infrastructure to foster economic growth and enhance the quality of life for citizens.
