A passenger bus belonging to Big Joe Motors has been reportedly kidnapped around Okene, Kogi State.

Though the details of the incident were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, it was said to have occurred on Wednesday.

Our correspondent gathered that the passengers were travelling from Benin, the Edo State capital, heading to Abuja when the gunmen attacked the 13-seater bus in Okene.

Big Joe Motors is a transport company based in Benin, the Edo State capital.

Our correspondent gathered that the bus driver was kidnapped along with the passengers.

However, after several efforts, the spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, could not be reached to either confirm or deny the development.

Repeated calls to his mobile phone rang out but were not picked nor was any returned as of the time of writing this report.

Also, efforts to reach the state security adviser, Commander Jerry Omadara, were not successful as repeated calls to his mobile line were not answered too.
