The Nigerian Police, Lagos State command; has cautioned Nollywood actress Laide Bakare, to be be careful of her utterances and the way she lied against officers.

You will recall that the actress who is now the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Entertainment, Arts, Culture and Tourism had an exchange of words.

She accused the police of dragging her out of her car and driving away with her daughter inside the car.

The actress took to her social media handle to complain how she was harassed by men of the Nigerian Police.

She wrote, “For the first time, I experienced the brutal way Nigerians are being treated along that axis.

“I cannot imagine how someone with a brain and sanity will drive someone’s car away with a minor in it.

“A lot is happening in this country that needs to be attended to. My daughter was left terrified because of the incident.

“The police targeted only big cars and vulnerable people to exploit and rob. Just because they needed our ATM card to take out N70,000,” the actress alleged..

However, the Lagos State Police Command Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, through his X handle denied the accusation of harassment leveled against his men by the actress. He said the actress was stopped for violating the traffic rule but she chose to create a scene.

“You were stopped for contravening traffic laws by driving on the BRT lane.

“You chose to create a scene. You chose to remain out of your vehicle when it was being taken to the LAMATA office.

“And the officers were not going to succumb to your gimmick to hold them down at that spot.

“You paid the N70,000 fine for your offence into the government coffers. Not a finger was laid on you. You left with the receipt and your vehicle,” he wrote.
