The 19th edition of popular gospel music concert, The Experience, has come and gone, but its echoes are still resonating across social media and beyond.

One of the talking points from the event is the energetic performance of gospel artiste, Limoblaze, which has been described as “a win for AfroGospel”.

Dubbed the “leader of the Young and Chosen pack”, Limoblaze’s ministration at the concert got many on their feet, as he connected with the audience on different levels.

The 19th edition of the annual music concert, which was hosted by the Prelate and Metropolitan Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, had in the past hosted a wide array of gospel artistes, such as Cece Winans, Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin, Chandler Moore, Travis Greene, Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan and Tim Godfrey.

A statement sent to Saturday Beats described the inclusion of Limoblaze as a groundbreaking moment for the growing afrogospel community in Nigeria.

It added, “A genre that has historically faced criticism and unfounded accusations, afrogospel has often been misunderstood for its innovative approach to gospel music, with some critics dismissing it as a deviation from traditional gospel values.

“However, Limoblaze’s performance stood out, not just for the genius artistry but for its cultural implications. Performing hits such as ‘Gold’, ‘Rest’, ‘Put It On God,’ and ‘Good God’ with a band and live backing vocals, he displayed the power of afrogospel to merge faith and contemporary African sounds. As always, he seamlessly blended afrobeat rhythms with messages of faith and hope, resonating deeply with a diverse audience.”
