Canadian rap icon Drake has shared insights into his career progression, celebrating his growth and success in the music industry.
In a reflective Instagram post, the 38-year-old artist wrote, “[I] used to look up to some people then I hit a growth spurt…$$$,” hinting at surpassing some of the individuals he once admired.
Drake, who gained initial fame as Jimmy Brooks in the teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001–2008), transitioned to music in 2006 with his debut mixtape Room for Improvement. Since then, he has climbed to the pinnacle of global stardom, becoming one of the best-selling music artists and the most successful rapper of all time.
His 2016 hit One Dance, featuring Nigerian superstar Wizkid and British singer Kyla, achieved a Guinness World Record as the first song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
