According to Manchester Evening News, Amorim arrived at Carrington training complex on Tuesday afternoon and was received by chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox.
The 39-year-old coach warmly embraced Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer.
All these players have been recovering from injury. Mount, Shaw and Yoro are close to returning to action. Amorim also met the club's staff.
He is still waiting for his visa before stepping out to the grass to prepare for the Ipswich Town clash.
He is expected to make an immediate impact. After 11 matches, the club is 13th in the Premier League.
How Man United will play under Amorim
Legit.ng earlier reported that Amorim briefly explained how Manchester United could play when he takes charge.
He stressed that he wants his team to play "without fear", meaning we will see a much more attacking style at Old Trafford.
Amorim is expected to play a 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-3 formation, which will be unfamiliar to most of the players.
Guardiola's message to Amorim
Legit.ng also reported that Pep Guardiola praised Ruben Amorim following his appointment, calling him a top-level coach.
Guardiola's Manchester City lost 4-1 to Amorim's Sporting in the Champions League last week.
