The India Film Festival is set to kick off on Friday, October 18, at the Silverbird Galleria in Abuja.
The three-day festival, which is billed to run October 18 to 20, 2024 , will screen two movies on the opening day, the 2021 Tamil Language political satire, ‘Mandela’ in the morning, and ‘Kantara’ a 2022 Indian-Kannada language thriller at 6pm.
On Saturday October 19, visitors will watch the 2011 Indian blockbuster ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ featuring actors Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, rounds off on Sunday, October 20, with the 2021 Sports Drama film ‘83’ starring Kapil Dev, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Mohinder Amarnath and Jiiva.
First held in March 31, 2014 at the Silverbird Galleria, Abuja, to commemorate Bollywood’s 100 years of existence, the Indian Film Festival has since become a means of introducing Nigerian audiences to the diverse ethnicities, cultures as well as historic and contemporary Indian society issues and events.
