Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade, has defended Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, following his performance at the birthday party of controversial pastor, Tobi Adegboyega.
Naija News reports that the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, in a social media post, expressed disappointment at Pastor Adegboyega for inviting Davido to his birthday party.
Ossai, who described Pastor Tobi’s action as an embarrassment to the gospel, advised him to ask God for forgiveness.
He added that the pastor should have invited Gospel musicians instead of inviting the likes of Davido and KCee.
He wrote, “I’m disappointed in Pastor Tobi for inviting Davido to his birthday party. This is an embarrassment to the Gospel, He should ask God for forgiveness.
“Pastor Tobi celebrated his birthday last night and invited Davido to perform. However, I didn’t feel the Holy Spirit’s presence, as the party was inconsistent with pastoral values.
“As the founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega’s actions appeared unrighteous, embarrassing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“As a pastor, he should have invited Gospel musicians to come and minister to his guests and save souls to the kingdom of God. Why does Pastor Tobi consistently bring embarrassment to the Gospel? He should reconsider identifying as a pastor, as his actions lack the fruit of the Spirit.
“A pastor cannot celebrate birthdays with secular performances. It’s inconsistent. I’m disappointed in Pastor Tobi. Pastor Tobi should ask God for forgiveness for he has sinned against God.”
Reacting via the comment section of a blog, Yemi Solade questioned the governor’s aide whether Davido is not a child of God.
He wrote, “Is DAVID ADELEKE not a CHILD OF GOD and a FELLOW CHRISTIAN?”
