Jose Peseiro Rates Ademola Lookman Above Victor Osimhen

Former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has rated Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman above Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in terms of their technical abilities.

Jose Peseiro, who led Nigeria to a second-place finish at the 2023 AFCON, stressed that Lookman excels in creating goalscoring opportunities and has recently added scoring goals to his game.

Peseiro also noted Lookman’s familiarity with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini and how the player has thrived within the team’s playing style.

“Ademola is more technical than Osimhen, more inclined to create the game, and who is now also scoring. He is performing very well this year,” Peseiro told SportItalia.

“He grew up with (Atalanta manager) Gian Piero Gasperini; now he is always playing, and we are happy with him. At a high level, he, to,o, can aspire to do great things.

“It’s no coincidence that they’ve both grown this year. This is because they’re both within a good system of play. Atalanta and Napoli want the ball; they want to play and attack. In these conditions, players get excited like this. Italian football has changed a lot in the last few years.”

Meanwhile, there have been reports linking both Lookman and Osimhen to Arsenal. Speculations have emerged that Arsenal are considering a significant offer plus defender, Jakub Kiwior to acquire Lookman, even though the Nigerian forward is close to joining PSG.

On the other hand, Arsenal are reportedly back in the race to sign Osimhen, which means they may have to compete with their London rivals, Chelsea, for the 25-year-old striker.
