Real Madrid have suffered a significant setback as England international, Jude Bellingham sustained a plantar fasciitis injury in his right leg.

Jude Bellingham’s injury was confirmed following tests carried out by Real Madrid Medical Services, which revealed damage to the plantar thin muscle of his right leg.

As a result, Bellingham is expected to be out of action for approximately one month, with his return expected after the international break in September 2024, according to a statement on the club’s official website.

The short statement reads: “Following tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantar thin muscle of his right leg. Pending evolution.”

Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, played a crucial role in the team’s success last season, contributing to their La Liga and UEFA Champions League victories.

His absence will undoubtedly be felt by the club, as he has been a prolific player, scoring 23 goals and providing 14 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions since joining the club in 2022.

The 21-year-old midfielder played 87 minutes in Real Madrid’s recent La Liga opener against Real Mallorca, which ended in a 1-1 draw. However, he was substituted late in the game due to his injury.
