The Nigerian Patriotic Front Movement, Northern Chapter which is one of the organisations participating in the #EndBad Governance In Nigeria protest has vowed to continue with the protest in Kano State.

The Secretary of the NPFM, Comrade Anas Adamu made the disclosure in a telephone interview with Arewa PUNCH in Kano on Sunday.

He said the decision by the group to continue with the protest was taken following the inability of President Bola Tinubu to address some of their “minimum demands” four days after the commencement of the nationwide protests.

“We are all aware that Nigeria is facing a major governance and economic crisis, which the government of President Asiwaju Bala Ahmed Tinubu has, in 15 months, exacerbated,” he said.

According to him, the President’s broadcast on Sunday morning was nothing but an empty speech because he has not addressed most of their minimum demands.

He added, “We are totally not satisfied with all what the President said in his address to the nation. So, we will continue with the protest because the only thing that is stopping us is the curfew.

“So, I’m assuring you that as soon as the curfew is over we shall resume our protests,” Adamu said.

“One of our minimum demands is that the government reduces the pump price of petrol to its pre Tinubu rates (N160 to N200). Not even what is left of the middle class can afford the current crippling rates of between the predent N720 to N1000+.

“We are law abiding citizens, so the state government imposed a curfew on the state that was why we suspended the protest.”
