Two students of Confluence University of Science and Technology, (CUSTECH) Osara, who were killed by suspected kidnappers, are to be immortalized by the Kogi State Government.

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo disclosed this on Wednesday when he met 29 students of the university who were rescued from their abductors by security agents.

The governor reassured students and the management CUSTECH Osara of improved security on the university campus.

To restore confidence and demonstrate his administration’s commitment to the safety and security of students and educational institutions in the state, the governor promised to complete the perimeter fencing of the university within 16 weeks.

“My administration will work with the university management to consistently review the security architecture of the school and make improvements where necessary in line with the safe school initiative of the State Government,” he added.

The governor further restated his commitment to a safe learning environment in all parts of the state, adding that no effort will be spared to defeat criminal elements wherever they are found in the state.

The Vice Chancellor of CUSTECH, Professor Abdulrahaman Salawu, expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for his support for the families of the deceased students.

It was learnt that the two slain students were identified as James Anajuwe and Caleb Musa.

DAILY POST recalled that more than 20 students were kidnapped on May 9th 2024 when suspected kidnappers invaded the university campus at about 9 pm.

The students were said to be in classroom preparing for their forthcoming examination before they were kidnapped by the gunmen who came in commando style, shooting sporadically.
