The general superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor William Kumuyi, has sought collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and other relevant government and non-governmental organisations to add value to the lives of young people in Nigeria and other countries.
Kumuyi, who was represented by the state overseer of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Pastor Femi Adebiyi, and Benue State overseer, Pastor Adebiyi Hassan, made the call after the June edition of the Impact Academy Programme, with the theme “From Zero to Hero,” which was held at the Deeper Life Campground, Gwagwalada, FCT, Abuja.
The weekend event was part of the ongoing Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), which started on Thursday, June 27, and will end on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
It had in attendance thousands of young people drawn from secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and young professionals.
On behalf of Kumuyi, Pastor Adeniyi Hassan, the programme’s national coordinator, said, “Pastor W.F. Kumuyi is a man for the youth. He has youth in his heart. He has always done that for decades with the youth; in fact, he started with the youth.
“The issue is that as young people look forward to the future, it seems uncertain for some of them; some are already discouraged, and some can quickly write themselves off once they experience failures. But somebody has to paint a picture before them.
“This Impact Academy Programme is the best place for freedom from drug abuse and addiction challenges because there was a graduate whose life was shattered because of drugs, including marijuana.
“This is the place and programme because God has positioned and placed Pastor Kumuyi to alter and change the story of our nations because the solution is there with the message of his gospel and prayer, which is mighty and powerful, and young people are delivered.
“For example, if we have this kind of programme, all those being rehabilitated are brought to it; they can’t go back the same; they will be transformed.
“So, I like all these organisations: the NDLEA should partner with Pastor Kumuyi because many lives and homes have been changed, and many parents are rejoicing because the lives of their children are changed who were hopeless about those children but now through this Impact Academy lives are being changed, educationally they are going up, and most of the young people go home with aspirations that is what a nation needs and that is changing a nation.
“The Impact Academy Programme is being transmitted worldwide on all social media handles, and many young people and various countries are running into over 150 countries, so it is beyond Nigeria.
“So, what we would have to say now is this: each time this programme comes out, the best any State where it is being held, it should take the materials, publicity, invitation, write to these different organisations including the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, Trauma Centre, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, and others to be part of it and come into it, and the people under them will be transformed because it is a transformational event that takes place every month.
“With the Impact Academy Programme, there is hope for the Nigerian youth, and there is great and serious hope for Nigerian youth, and that is to the credit of Pastor Kumuyi,” he said.
On behalf of Kumuyi, the convener of the GCK, Pastor Femi Adebiyi, who hosted the programme, explained how the word of God ministered by Pastor Kumuyi penetrated the lives of young people at the programme.
“The word of God gives the power of God; when the word of God goes into an individual, the power of God goes with the word of God, and with that, the capacity, ability of the individual to be strengthened, energised, and to be empowered to be able to do all that needs to be done becomes possible. The overall theme of GCK is the ‘Changing God of all Possibilities’.
“So, when His power enters into an individual’s life, the impossibilities in the life of that person becomes possible, and so he can get lifted ‘From ‘Zero to Hero’ because when people are down there, it is like a hopeless situation, case of despondence and people can even give themselves or write themselves off or they are written off by other people.
“But with the power of God coming in, they are lifted, energised, empowered and strengthened to do what they wouldn’t be able to do.
“My message to the youth who participated here at the Alpha Location and across the world is that they should sustain the grace, power, and blessing of God,” he added.
