In a series of high-level meetings on Wednesday, Nigeria’s Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, Ajuri Ngelale, has engaged with international partners to advance President Bola Tinubu’s agenda for green industrial development.
The day began with a briefing from the leadership of the United Kingdom-Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNAIF).
The meeting aimed to align the partnership with President Tinubu’s vision for private sector-led, public sector-enabled green industrial growth.
Later, Ngelale held a virtual discussion with Ms. Gim Huay, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Center for Nature and Climate.
The talks resulted in agreed-upon actionable steps to enhance collaboration with international investors and development finance institutions, in line with Nigeria’s green industrial roadmap.
The day concluded with a session involving a delegation from the German Embassy, led by the Head of Climate Negotiations, Ambassador Johannes Lehne.
The meeting focused on deepening cooperation in hydrogen and wind energy development, with specific steps outlined and a follow-up meeting scheduled for next week.
