Two aides of the new vice-chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, Professor Bernard Odoh, have urged those opposed to his appointment to sheath their swords, assuring that he would transform the institution into an unimaginable status.
Charles Otu and Alloysius Attah in press conference described Odoh as someone who does not cut corners to earn anything. Speaking to newsmen in Awka, Anambra State on Friday, they pointed out that Prof. Odoh as a principled man had in 2018 voluntarily resigned as secretary of the Ebonyi state government when he felt that the policies of the government were counter to the interests of the people.
They stated that besides obtaining his degrees from UNIZIK, Prof Odoh even before his recent appointment as the 7th vice-chancellor of the institution had shown demonstrable passion for the growth of the institution.
They stated that he attracted $1.7m donation to the university from Schlumberger and secured N150m World Bank grant used in establishment of a National Water Resources capacity network building centre in the university among such others.
