The Olu of Wari, Ogiame Atuwatse III, is set to mark his third coronation anniversary with a week-long celebration starting on Monday at the palace.
The Eson of Warri Kingdom and Chairman of the Anniversary’s Publicity/Media Committee, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, in a statement announced that the festivities to commemorate the third coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, will begin on Monday at the palace with a praise and worship session.
The palace will host homage-paying ceremonies and anniversary lectures on Tuesday at noon as the week-long celebration progresses, according to Arenyeka.
On Wednesday, August 21, there will be an anniversary and homage-paying at the palace; homage-paying at Ode Itsekiri and a drama/play presentation are scheduled for Thursday, August 22; while on Friday, August 23, a novelty match by Olori Ladies and homage-paying has been scheduled.

Also, Saturday, August 24, will include awards presentations to distinguished Itsekiri sons and daughters, as well as a music and poetry concert while Sunday, August 25, which is the grand finale, will include a thanksgiving service at the palace, Arenyeka announced.
Social media platforms are filled with goodwill messages from Itsekiri groups congratulating Ogiame Atuwatse III on his third anniversary.
He ascended the throne on August 21, 2021, at Ode Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri nation.
The celebration promises to be a grand showcase of Itsekiri culture and tradition, honouring the monarch’s three years of leadership.
