The Labour Party governorship candidate in the forthcoming Ondo State election, Dr Ayodele Olorunfemi, has given reasons why the electorate should shun vote-buying during the exercise scheduled for November 16.

Olorunfemi said voters engaged in selling their votes would suffer the pain for the next four years if such bribes were accepted from any of the candidates or political parties.

Speaking in a conversation with Saturday PUNCH, the LP candidate said the Ondo residents, who were tired of the current administration of the All Progressives Congress in the state, were also not sure of the Peoples Democratic Party as an alternative, leaving the Labour Party as a better option for the people.

He said, “My advice to the electorate is that this time round, they should not collect N10,000 to lose their millions because the moment they collect that money and vote for these two political parties, they will continue to pay.

“They will continue to pay N160,000 as tuition fees, which will be the N10,000 they have given to them that the people are paying back.

“The Mother and Child Hospital during the Labour Party government was free but now, they are paying N80,000 for child delivery. So, if they collect N10,000, they will continue to pay the N80,000 in the Mother and Child Hospital.”
