The state’s Commissioner for health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi on Thursday said the incident “has come to the attention of the Ministry of Health, Oyo State, of a video clip in circulation over an unfortunate incidence of a loss of life that occurred to one of the patients at a prominent private hospital in Ibadan.

“On behalf of Oyo State Government, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, wishes to commiserate with the family of the deceased.”

Chairman, Oyo State Hospital Management Board (OYSHMB), Dr. Akin Fagbemi led the delegation which also had the NANNM chairman, Comrade Samuel Adeyemi at the meeting which highlighted the governor’s significant contributions to the health sector since his inauguration in May 2019.

Governor Makinde reiterated that Oyo State belongs to all citizens and emphasised the need for a roundtable discussion on issues of concern rather than opting for confrontation through strikes.

He pledged continuous support for the state’s health workers and promised to address the details of the association’s eight-point agitation.

Adeyemi, earlier in his address, highlighted the eight-point agitation that led to the strike action which he noted to have since been largely resolved through the governor’s intervention.

The meeting was also attended by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi and the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Anifat Ibrahim.
