Paul Scholes Warns Man United Against Appointing Ruben Amorim

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has voiced his skepticism regarding the growing excitement surrounding Ruben Amorim’s potential appointment as the club’s next manager.

Paul Scholes believes that Ruben Amorim is not better than coach Erik ten Hag, who Manchester United sacked a few days ago.

With Ten Hag’s departure confirmed on Monday, Amorim is reportedly on the verge of taking the helm at Manchester United. However, Scholes does not share the prevailing optimism regarding this decision.

He said the club should have pursued Thomas Tuchel instead, emphasizing the German coach’s qualifications and experience.

During a discussion on The Overlap Fan Debate, Scholes stated, “I think Thomas Tuchel would have been the ideal candidate to lead Manchester United. Unfortunately, he’s no longer available, having taken the position with the England national team. Tuchel has proven himself capable of managing an elite football club and is well-equipped to win crucial matches. His track record speaks for itself.”

On the topic of Amorim, Scholes remarked, “The buzz surrounding him reminds me of the hype we experienced when Erik ten Hag was appointed. Amorim comes from the Portuguese league, which is certainly more competitive than the Dutch league. He has achieved notable success there, and he carries a certain charisma and presence that are promising.”
