PLASIEC warns against logo misuse

The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) on Saturday issued a caution urging residents to be wary of unauthorized documents using their logo.

The caution followed the discovery of a document bearing its logo that falsely purports to show results from recent party primaries.

PLASIEC’s Head of Media, Koro E. Yakubu, in a statement issued to journalist on Saturday, reiterated the Commission’s role as the sole authority to announce official election results.

The statement read, “Unauthorized logo use is a serious threat, eroding our credibility and compromising electoral integrity.

Only PLASIEC announces official results, not parties or individuals.

“Voters are encouraged to rely on PLASIEC’s official website, www.plasiec.ng, for accurate election information.

The website is currently active, processing nomination forms from political parties.

PLASIEC acknowledged receipt of results from various parties following their primaries.

They assured the public that the official results will be uploaded to their website for transparency.

“Let us work together to protect our democracy,” appealed PLASIEC, urging citizens to disregard any unauthorized documents and rely solely on official PLASIEC information for a free, fair, and peaceful election.

The Commission remains vigilant as Plateau State approaches its local elections, ensuring the logo incident doesn’t undermine the integrity of the vote.
