In the face of ravaging insecurity in Katsina State, Governor Dikko Radda has urged the Muslim faithfuls in the state to ask for God’s wisdom and strength to overcome the menace.

“Let us beseech Allah to grant us the wisdom and strength to overcome the insecurity bedevilling our region”, according to Radda in his message to mark the new Islamic calendar year, Hijira.

This is contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ibrahim Mohammed.

According to the statement, “The Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, extends warm felicitations to all Muslim brothers and sisters on the auspicious occasion of Hijira 1446 AH, marking the Islamic New Year.

“In his message, Governor Radda reflected on the significance of Hijira, stating, “The migration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Makkah to Madinah teaches us valuable lessons of perseverance, sacrifice, and unity in the face of adversity. These are virtues we must embrace as we confront the challenges facing our dear state.”

“The Governor called upon all Muslims to use this occasion for deep reflection and renewed commitment to the teachings of Islam.

“Let us imbibe the spirit of Hijira in our daily lives, showing compassion to one another and working together for the progress of our communities,” he urged.

Addressing the security challenges facing the state, Radda emphasised the power of collective prayer and action, saying, “I implore all citizens to use this special occasion to offer fervent prayers for Katsina State”.

The governor further stressed the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with security agencies. “As we enter the new Islamic year, let us renew our commitment to being our brother’s keeper. Our unity and collective effort are crucial in our fight against insecurity,” he added.

The governor concluded by reiterating his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.
