Erling Haaland is, without a doubt, one of the best strikers in world football.
The Manchester City striker has won the last two Premier League Golden Boots and is on track to win a third one this season.
Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has lauded the Norwegian and named two defenders who can stop him.
Haaland has scored a staggering 73 Premier League goals in 72 appearances and also hit 100 goals for Man City in 105 appearances, per Transfermarkt.
If he continues at this rate, the 24-year-old is on track to break Alan Shearer's Premier League scoring record.
What did Rudiger say about Haaland?
In a recent interview, the former Chelsea defender praised the Man City striker, highlighting one quality that gives him an edge.
"I think I’m more of an old-school defender who loves this battle with strikers, especially with strikers like him [Haaland] because that guy is an absolute beast," Rudiger said on The Inside Scoop via Metro Sport."You just have to be ready for this and try not give him too much space in your back because he’s dangerous."The Champions League winner added that only two defenders have the qualities to stop him.
‘There’s rarely people who can physically match him. The ones I’ve seen in the last couple of years is Virgil [Van Dijk], who is the same size as him, that’s a good match up, and I have to say Saliba also did very well."Haaland has faced Van Dijk's Liverpool and Saliba's Arsenal seven times each and scored three goals against the Gunners and Liverpool.
Haaland's record-breaking season
In his first season in the Premier League, the Man City striker broke the record for the most goals in a 38-game season with 36 goals. This season, he has scored 10 goals in six matches.
He is seventh in Man City's all-time goal scorers list, and barring any injuries, Sergio Aguero's record of 260 could be broken.
Haaland matches Ronaldo's record
Legit.ng earlier reported that Haaland made history with his goal against Arsenal on September 22.
The goal against the Gunners saw Haaland equal one of Cristiano Ronaldo's long-standing records.
