A House of Representatives member representing the Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, Ekiti State, Akinlayo Kolawole, on Sunday, canvassed more prayers for the country’s leaders to help in their leadership roles rather than unnecessary criticisms and fault findings.

The Federal lawmaker commended the people of the state for cooperating with Governor Biodun Oyebanji and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere despite calls for a nationwide protest.

Kolawole, who urged citizens to exercise patience, said “the All Progressives Congress government in Nigeria will continue to put in place necessary instruments capable of promoting the people’s well-being and the country’s development.

“The working plans of the APC in Nigeria, if allowed to be fully implemented, with patience on the citizens’ part, will bring about the needed development across all nooks and crannies of the country for the benefit of all.

“For this to materialise requires an atmosphere of peace in the country. Nigerian leaders need more prayers and support from the citizens.”

The lawmaker hailed the Ekiti people for conducting themselves peacefully and shunning the protest, saying, “This development has again proved to the world that Ekiti people cherish the developmental efforts of Governor Oyebanji across the state above personal gains.

“Ekiti people’s level of understanding, support and admiration towards the present administration in the state has continued to be overwhelming and encouraging, hence the reason for more performance by the governor.”

Kolawole, who hinged the peace in the state on Oyebanji’s inclusive governance style and performance in office, said, “The governor’s continued consultations with Ekiti leaders and youths, intimating them on various strides being embarked on to give the state a facelift and create a conducive atmosphere for economic advancement are yielding positive outcomes.

“The resolve of the Ekiti people to join hands with Governor Oyebanji to develop the state will continue to fast-track unprecedented development through economic recovery and reintegration in the state,” Kolawole said.
