Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, will shut down its local operations in Brazil, owner Elon Musk said on Saturday, although the service will remain available to Brazilian users.
“Due to demands by ‘Justice’ @Alexandre in Brazil that would require us to break (in secret) Brazilian, Argentinian, American and international law, X has no choice but to close our local operations in Brazil,” Musk posted, referring to Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes.
