Super Falcons of Nigeria interim head coach, Justine Madugu has expressed his admiration for the national team players following their impressive performance in the friendly matches against Algeria.
The Super Falcons, who are nine-time African champions, showcased their dominance by securing two consecutive victories over the visiting Green Ladies in the space of one week.
In their first encounter, held last Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, a Super Falcons team made up of mostly home-based players triumphed with a solid 2-0 win.
This victory highlighted the team’s strength and cohesion, despite the limited training sessions they had together leading up to the matches.
The second friendly, played on Tuesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, saw the Falcons put on an even more dominant display, crushing Algeria with a scoreline of 4-1.
This match not only showcased the team’s attacking prowess but also demonstrated their growing confidence and synergy on the field.
Following the second victory, Coach Madugu praised the girls for their stellar performance, noting, “I commend the girls for their performance even though we only had very few training sessions together. It gives us hope and belief that going forward we will have a more formidable Super Falcons.”
