Troops Arrest Another Suspect With Govt’s Agric Empowerment Tools In Yobe

Troops of 233 Battalion, have arrested another suspect at checkpoint in Damaturu while conveying the agricultural empowerment equipment belonging to the Yobe State government.

Special Adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Security, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), said the suspect, a 39-year-old Abdulmumini Lawan was arrested at the checkpoint.

Lawan, a driver of a Volkswagen Golf 3 Wagon with registration number NFD 258 XA was conveying the agricultural tools when he was arrested by the troops.

Brig.-Gen. Abdulsalam (rtd) said that the suspect was conveying 4 pieces of trashers suspected to be items issued for empowerment by the state government.

He further stated that the items were being conveyed without any waybill or letter of allocation from Damaturu to Potiskum for one Alh. Umar Abdulrahman with phone No: 08038212110.

Gen. Abdulsalam further revealed that all efforts to reach the number proved abortive, adding that the suspect and the items have been handed over to Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for further action.

Recall that Governor Buni distributed N14 billion worth of mega agricultural empowerment tools for farmers across the state in an efforts to boost food security and food sufficiency in the state.
