The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned two suspects, Shope Omoboye, 26, and Isiaka Muhammed, 22, on Wednesday, for alleged abduction.

They were arraigned at the Chief Magistrate Court, Yaba, before Magistrate O.Y. Adefope.

The defendants were charged with three counts of abduction and fraudulently obtaining property.

The charges alleged that the duo abducted a 27-year-old lady, Ifeoluwa Kolaru.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the duo conspired among themselves and kidnapped Ifeoluwa Kolaru on April 15, 2024, at the Itowolo area of Lagos State.

They were arrested after a report was made to the police, and during the investigation, the MTN and Airtel SIM cards belonging to the missing victim were found in their possession.

Prosecutor Haruna Magaji informed the court that the alleged offence was committed on April 15, 2024, stating that the alleged offence contravened Section 3 of the Kidnapping Laws of Lagos State, 2017, Section 2 of the Kidnapping Laws of Lagos State, 2017, and Section 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.

The prosecutor also said the SIM cards of the victim were found in their possession, and statements from police officers involved in the investigation served as evidence that the alleged offence was committed.

The defendants’ pleas were not taken.

Adefope ordered that the defendants be detained in a police custody until further investigations.
