Determined to foster economic growth of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma, at the weekend, renewed his drive towards boosting electricity generation and distribution across the 27 local councils of the state.
The governor held a strategic tripartite meeting with the management of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), and contractors responsible for the power project in the state.
In attendance were officials of the Orashi Electricity Company and their technical partners, focusing on implementing effective strategies to accelerate the power project in the state.
Speaking on the interaction, Uzodimma said: “This is not just about power; it is about unlocking economic potential, fostering industrial growth, and creating an environment conducive to investment.

According to him, the state government would emphasise the state’s industrial development, which would create employment opportunities for unemployed people in the state.
The interaction also focused on implementing effective strategies towards accelerating the completion of various electricity projects, ensuring a stable and consistent electricity supply in all nooks and crannies of the state.
The governor added: “The Imo State government remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering this critical power infrastructure project for the benefit of the people, and the state.
“With this renewed focus, Imo State is poised to witness significant economic growth and development, driven by a reliable and consistent power supply.”
