Uzodimma Presents N756bn 2025 Budget To Imo Assembly

The governor of Imo State,  Hope Uzodimma has presented the 2025 appropriation budget to the Imo State House of Assembly with N756 billion.

The budget, estimated at N755,588,041,220 was tagged the “Budget of Expanded Economic Opportunities.”

In his presentation ,  the governor outlined the administration’s achievements over the past five years and  reaffirmed   commitment to transform the state under the ‘Shared Prosperity Agenda.”

He said, “There are ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and expand critical infrastructure especially the construction of rural roads across the three senatorial zones and ongoing work to provide a 24/7 electricity supply through the Imo State Electricity Distribution (ISED) project.”

Uzodimma emphasised the administration’s commitment to the dredging of the Oguta Lake and Orashi River to connect the same to the Atlantic Ocean.

His words, “The government plans to hand over schools to religious institutions in 2025 as part of its strategy to improve the quality of education,” he submitted.

Speaking in respect  of agriculture, the governor highlighted, “To enhance food security, the Achara Ugbu Farmland in Owerri North local government area would be developed for large-scale agricultural production.”

He also expressed commitment   to support the Ada Palm project  so as to boost palm oil production in the state.

The governor highlighted, “Our administration is committed to modernising key markets, including Eke Ukwu Owerri Market, and revitalising industrial hubs,  such as the Onitsha Industrial Layout, as well as similar layouts in Orlu and Okigwe respectively.”

Uzodimma revealed plans to open new layouts and collaborate with competent developers to improve housing estates within the state for optimal financial outlay.
