- Pep Guardiola was spotted giving Adama Traore some coaching lessons after Manchester City's win over Fulham
- Mateo Kovacic bagged a rare brace to help the champions come from behind and win their first game in their last three
- Adama Traore had a game to forget, with the bulky, pacy winger repeatedly missing golden opportunities to score
Manchester City survived a couple of scares to record a hard-fought 3-2 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.
The champions were forced to come from behind after Andreas Perreira had fired the visitors ahead from a delicious Raul Jimenez assist
City's goals came from an unfamiliar source as Mateo Kovacic got an unlikely brace to put Pep Guardiola's side back in the driving seat.
Jeremy Doku came off the bench to extend City's lead, but a Rodrigo Muniz strike in the 88th minute set up a few nervy last moments for the Citizens.
Adama Traore's missed chances vs Fulham
Many fans would argue that the scoreline would have been a little bit different had Adama Traore converted one of his numerous chances.
The pacy winger was a thorn in Manchester City's side the whole afternoon, catching out the backline on various occasions. Traore, however, fluffed his lines repeatedly despite being in good positions.
Guardiola coaches Traore on the pitch
The Spanish international was understandably upset after the final whistle, with Guardiola seemingly offering him a shoulder. The tactical genius was spotted talking to the winger, with fans convinced he was telling him how to improve his game.
@ZhaoyiLin thought Guardiola told Traore that,
"It is okay if you failed to score against my team; now your job is to improve your gameplay and score against the other teams."@Lipunda said,
"Pep thinks Traore's next match is with Arsenal, so he is coaching him to use those chances to beat Arteta. Man is so scared."The win ensured Manchester City remained within touching distance of league leaders Liverpool, who beat Crystal Palace earlier in the day. They play Wolves after the international break.
