Nigerian singer cum music producer, Temilade Openiyi, also known as Tems, has revealed why she cannot drive in Nigeria without having police escorts.
Naija News reports that the ‘Free Mind’ crooner, in a podcast interview with Big Boy TV in the United States, said her celebrity status sometimes complicates her movements in Nigeria.
Giving reason for her inability to drive in Nigeria, Tems recalled how she almost got mobbed while driving in Lagos last December.
Tems added that she cannot drive in Nigeria without police escorts due to her popularity.
She said, “I used to drive in Nigeria, but now I can’t drive. I almost got mobbed last December. If I want to drive, I must have police escorts at the front and the back.”

In other news, Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared his journey of success in the music industry after finishing school.
The singer attributed his success in the music industry to the choices he made after graduating from Babcock University.
He disclosed this while speaking at the 2024 LAS annual summit, where he shared the journey of success after finishing school.
Davido explained that he took a break from school to pursue his music career, which ultimately led to his success.
He explained, “I relate a lot to this topic because I’m living proof of the successful person after school. Let me share my experience. So I went into the entertainment world after school, but I do have friends, siblings, my father who has a company and also a school that students graduate from.”
He noted that his family allowed him to choose his path and encouraged him, unlike his siblings, who followed more traditional routes.
