Beware Of Factional Distractions, NNPP Remains Strong, United – Shittu

The former national chairman of the Alliance National Party, Asiwaju Moshood Shittu, has dismissed rumours of a faction within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), describing such claims as unfounded and misleading.

Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, Shittu reaffirmed that the NNPP, under the leadership of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, remains united, stronger, and a formidable opposition party poised to secure victory in the 2027 presidential elections.

“The NNPP is growing across the six geopolitical zones and stands as the only opposition capable of clinching the presidency,” Shittu said.

He noted that the party’s unity was cemented during the official presentation of its flag, constitution, and logo by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the Bolingo Hotel in Abuja, an event attended by the National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), and party members nationwide.

Shittu dismissed a purported faction led by Anubonam as “a mere distraction and a ploy to create disaffection within the party.”

He alleged that the group has been using the party’s name to obtain gratifications, warning the general public to remain cautious of their antics.

“The authenticity of any political party lies with INEC, and it is Senator Kwankwaso’s leadership that received official recognition from the electoral body,” Shittu emphasized.

He urged party members to stay focused and not be deterred by the “outlawed faction,” assuring them that the NNPP’s leadership is committed to strengthening the party’s structures across the country.

Asiwaju Shittu also extended an invitation to Nigerians seeking a credible political platform to join the NNPP, highlighting the party’s openness and capacity to deliver inclusive governance.

“The NNPP is not only united but also offers a platform for Nigerians ready to effect meaningful change.

Our focus is on the presidency, state governments, and legislative seats at all levels in 2027,” Shittu said.

With Senator Kwankwaso at the helm, he concluded, the NNPP is well-positioned to lead Nigeria towards progress and development.
