Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has reacted to the viral video where one of his daughters, Jane was seen asking the governor whether he wanted her to die as her mother did.
The video has since generated diverse interpretations as many speculated that the governor was behind the death of his late wife, Patience, while others said there was cold war in the family over the issue.
But, the governor, while fielding questions from government house correspondents on his arrival at Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo for the 60th Birthday celebration of former Deputy Governor, Obong Nsima Ekere on Saturday said, his family is intact noting that even the said Jane and other members of the family were present at the event.
Eno who wondered why an event which happened immediately after his wife passed on last year, would surface and be trending on the eve of the 2nd year anniversary of his administration, stressing that it was politically motivated.
He said, “We are in political times, so you expect more of that. My family is intact, and you can see everyone here with me. This teaches me that there are detractors around. My family is intact. You can see that Jane, herself is here, that’s Helen and her husband. So we have a good family.
The governor appealed to the public to stop bringing up sad memories as the death of his wife was traumatic to him and the kids, even as he said he would not be distracted by anything from serving Akwa Ibom people.
Eno congratulated Obong Nsima Ekere on his 60th birthday celebration and prayed God to continue to strength him, imbued him with long life, good health and wisdom to continue in the State and Nation’s development.
