Popular singer and self-acclaimed ‘African Bad Girl’ has said that she might forgive someone who wrongs her but might not forget.
Savage stated this while being interviewed by reality TV star, Tacha, on the Big Friday Show on Cool Fm.
Asked about her thoughts on forgiveness, which is also the title of her latest single, the singer said, “I always say it’s not hard for me to forgive but I probably will not go back to that situation. I might forgive but it might be hard for me to actually forget. For me, going back to such situation will seem like I’m stupid, because people don’t change. So, I can forgive in the sense that if I see you, I will respect you enough to say “hi”. I won’t bad mouth you or start talking about whatever went wrong. But I probably won’t go back to that situation.”
Shedding light on the inspiration behind the new single, Savage said, “Itis a part of an album coming out next year. It shows the other side that as a woman, you can take accountability.”
On how she manages fame, her tight work schedule and being a single mum, the ‘Somebody’s Son’ songstress said, “It takes a village (to raise a child). My mum has been very instrumental, and I call her ‘mama’. He (her son) has an amazing nanny that has been with us for about nine years. He also has amazing godmothers stepping in if I have to travel for a long time. My mum still ‘mothers’ me at this age. She still asks me, ‘Have you eaten’? If she sees stuffs online, she is still worried about me. I don’t think our jobs as mothers will ever end. As women, being able to juggle things is our super power.”
