Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Saturday visited a hospital in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where one Mrs. Hadiza Amwe is currently undergoing treatment for kidney-related issues.
Hadiza, the wife of a journalist with the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, Abdullahi Amwe, had almost lost hope of getting the required sum for a proposed kidney transplant before Sule came to her aide.
During a visit to the hospital on Saturday, the governor prayed for her speedy recovery and went ahead to offset the cost of the proposed kidney transplant to the tune of N22 million.
Reacting to the gesture, Hadiza’s husband, Abdullahi Amwe who broke down in tears, thanked Sule for coming to the aid of his family, while noting that the ill-health of his wife had recently made him financially handicapped.
“The governor had extended similar gestures to my family in the past including making my 12-year-old son, Hassan Abdullahi, a child ambassador, and I thank him so much for his generosity.
“It is my prayer that God Almighty continues to bless him and his family at every moment of their lives,” he said.
