There are strong indications that President Bola Tinubu is poised to implement a cabinet reshuffle in the near future, as he has been engaging in discussions with key figures within his administration regarding this plan.

A source who spoke with Vanguard disclosed that President Tinubu held a marathon meeting on Sunday with Mrs. Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, at his office in Aso Rock.

The discussions are believed to center around evaluating the performance of ministers and the effectiveness of the current cabinet.

Also present at the Villa during this critical meeting were Zaccheus Adedeji, the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), who also serves as the Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, and the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi.

Their involvement suggests a comprehensive review of the government’s operations may be underway.

Prior to these discussions, it was reported that National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa had also met with the president, indicating the broad scope of consultations taking place at the highest levels of government.

A presidential source said, “it’s expected that before the end of the week, the President will announce a cabinet reshuffle.”

The source further said, “There is going to be a Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting on Wednesday which may be a valedictory meeting for some of the Ministers except if the President decides to change his mind and delay the announcement.”
