A man, identified as Shuaibu Yusuf from Borno State on Monday, climbed a transmission tower in Abuja and threatened to jump down, except his demands were met.
The man had a hand-written note addressed to President Bola Tinubu, which contained his demands.
Naija News reports the man demanded the reversal of the fuel subsidy removal policy, the reopening of the borders for food importation, declaration of a state of emergency on insecurity in Nigeria, and others.
While calling on other Nigerians to join him in protest, he expressed readiness to sacrifice his life in order to get a solution to the problems.
After numerous pleas from emergency responders, the man eventually descended from the mast and was subsequently apprehended by the police.

Troops, Hunters Thwart Insurgents’ Bid To Vandalize Yobe Power Towers
Troops from Sector 2 Joint Task Force, North-East Operation Hadin Kai, successfully thwarted an attempt by Boko Haram insurgents to sabotage power towers in Kasesa, near Damaturu.
Naija News learnt that this successful operation was a joint effort with local hunters’ groups in the state.
Captain Naziru Shehu, acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations Headquarters for the sector, informed journalists in Damaturu on Sunday about the incident.
Shehu stated that combined troops from Combat Team (CT) 7 of the 27 Task Force Brigade executed the operation on Saturday after receiving reliable intelligence about the planned attack.
“Upon receiving credible intelligence regarding Boko Haram activities, troops promptly set a successful ambush for the terrorists.
“The insurgents abandoned a Toyota Corolla, eight prepared Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), detonating cables, two damaged tires, and a trade test card/certificate after the troops unleashed heavy fire on them,” Shehu reported.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen. W. Shaibu, have praised the residents for their cooperation.
Shehu urged the public to stay vigilant and consistently provide reliable information to security agencies about the movements of suspicious individuals in their areas.
