Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has donated three truckloads of rice to the Christian community in the state as part of efforts to support their Christmas celebrations.
The donation is aimed at ensuring a joyful holiday season for Christians in Kebbi.
In addition, the governor donated over 1,000 bags of rice to widows of Army and police officers, the Nigeria Correctional Service, and the Igbo community in the state.
The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Affairs, Dr. Samuel Audu Dabai, during a conversation with our correspondent in Birnin Kebbi.
Dabai highlighted the significant support provided to Christians this year, noting that many had already returned to Kebbi for the holidays, with others travelling to various destinations.
“The rice distribution will cover the southern part of the state, where the largest concentration of Christians resides, and will begin soon, with trucks departing Birnin Kebbi for onward delivery,” he said.
